Weekend sailing at Largs, Scotland

This is an ideal sailing weekend on the Clyde for either the beginner wanting to start sailing and gain an RYA Start Yachting certificate or the more experienced sailor looking for time on the water enjoying our Scottish waters. It also works well as a refresher sail, for building miles towards RYA qualifications or even the chance to tick off some extra bits of an RYA certificate.

The course will start on Friday evening and run through to Sunday afternoon, we will stay within the Clyde making a suitable plan for the crew and conditions. Without doubt we will see some awesome Scottish scenery.

For those who want to do Day Skipper or Competent Crew over weekends simply choose 3 weekends.

Assumed knowledge and sailing experience: None necessary

Minimum age: 18

Course content: The yacht, ropework, steering underway, rules of the road, man overboard recovery, clothing and equipment, emergency equipment and precautions, meteorology.

Ability after course: Basic knowledge of yachting and sailing

Course starts: Friday 19:30 @ Largs, Scotland

When comparing costs with other providers it is worth remembering that all costs are included in our courses including fuel, gas, consumables, food, certification and berthing.

Optional extras include food and drink ashore, purchasing a logbook if required and waterprooof hire.

When booking with other providers where berthing fees are not included, this is charged to the customer during the course adding a significant extra cost.
