Sailing InTuition

Sailing InTuition was set up and is directed by Daniel Smith. Daniel grew up on the West Coast of Scotland, spending most of his childhood racing and cruising around the Clyde. After years of racing dinghies and teaching at The National Watersports Centre Cumbrae he is a highly skilled sailor and instructor and Yacht Master Examiner. Daniel is a qualified teacher, Master Mariner and world circumnavigator after skippering Derry~Londonderry~Doire to 2nd place in the 15-16 Clipper Round the World yacht race finishing with a safe, happy crew.

The Company

Sailing InTuition was born out of Daniel’s love of teaching, sailing and passion for the sport. Having travelled all over (and around) the world teaching sailing from competitive to grass route level, Daniel is keen to bring those skills home. The goal of Sailing InTuition is to provide gold standard training to create highly skilled, safe sailors whether that be focused on racing or exploring Scotland’s stunning coastline.
Based out of Largs on the West Coast of Scotland, Sailing InTuition will ensure that your time afloat with us is second to none.

The Boat

Yacht InTuition is a Salona 40. She was carefully chosen to be the perfect boat for the job or RYA training, adventure sailing and competitive offshore racing. Being a cruiser racer she combines comfort and performance.
She has been through multiple recent refits and benefits from new standing rigging, new sails, reconditioned engine, vinyl wrap and is MCA coded for 8 persons onboard in 3 cabins and a spacious saloon.
