Daniel started getting involved in yacht and boat deliveries from and early age delivering yachts around Scotland as a crew member. He has now gained over 150, 000 nautical miles experience and is a qualified Yachtmaster Ocean Power and Sail and MCA Master.
He has been involved in many deliveries including large luxury yachts to the Caribbean, race yachts around the world, several Atlantic crossings, Mediterranean deliveries and all kinds of deliveries in Scotland, Ireland and the rest of the UK.

It is important to get a good skipper involved when getting your pride and joy delivered. There are many amateur skippers happy to deliver boats cheaply to gain experience and time sailing but this is often more costly after damage is repaired and wear and tear is considered. A professional delivery with Sailing InTuition involves a full seaworthiness check of the yacht and rigging prior to departure, sympathetic but prompt passages, minor repairs carried out on route and a full clean down and condition report at the end of the delivery.
Regular marinas include the Clyde marinas of Troon Yacht Haven, Ardrossan Clyde marina, Fairlie Quay, Largs Yacht Haven, Inverkip marina, Holy Loch and James Watt Dock As well as Tarbert and Portavadie in Loch Fyne and Oban, Craobh Haven, Adfern and many other Scottish harbours on the West coast.
Having trained thousands of students it is easy for us to provide crew for longer deliveries and those on larger vessels where more bodies are needed to keep the boat running well.
At Sailing InTuition we are happy to discuss deliveries, time frames and passage planning. We can also supply charts, publications and safety equipment required for safe passage.
Longer deliveries are usually priced as an estimated cost taking into account sailing time, boat preperation and travel. An allowance for berthing on route and diesel costs are factored in. Generally deliveries happen within the estimated time and often are a ltlle quicker bringing costs down.
Sometimes deliveries don’t go according to plan. This can with boats that have had little recent use and maintenance causing engine issues or when the weather causes delays. Often when this is the case the time can be made up later in the trip. We aim to get things working again and the boat to it’s destination safely and as quickly as possible. Daniel has a 100% success rate getting boats delivered to their destination and rarely does the cost exceed the estimated price.
Vessels delivered by us must have appropriate insurance in place which covers professional delivery. For your peace of mind, Daniel also holds 3rd Party Insurance insurance which covers for up to £6million.
